Teaching & Learning methods used
Critical Thinking
We help our students develop critical thinking skills in order for them to make clear and reasoned judgments when faced with tasks or problems. It is important that our students are able to naturally question the information presented to them in order to determine its validity and importance. We aim to help our students to be equipped with the following thinking skills:
- Analysing.
- Reasoning.
- Evaluating.
- Problem solving.
- Decision Making.
Critical thinking is also vital for other skills such as creativity and self-reflection.
Learning Through Play
Learning through play is a vital part in any child's development. At NES we use educational toys to promote learning through play so that our young learners can acquire important life skills at an early age. Some skills that could be developed through play include:
- Developing fine and motor skills.
- Problem solving.
- Social development .
- Learning how to share and compromise when playing with others.
NES has introduced elements of the Finish Educational System into our early years department in order to add emphasis to such approaches of learning.
